Extremity treatments in chiropractics refer to the evaluation and adjustment of musculoskeletal conditions affecting the limbs, such as the hands, wrists, elbows, shoulders, feet, ankles, knees, and hips. Chiropractors use various techniques to assess and treat extremity conditions such as joint mobilization, soft tissue therapy, stretching, and exercises. These treatments aim to alleviate pain, inflammation, improve joint function and mobility, and restore proper alignment and balance to the musculoskeletal system. Extremity treatments in chiropractics can be effective for a range of conditions including arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, plantar fasciitis, and sports injuries. These treatments can benefit people of all ages and activity levels, from athletes and manual laborers to office workers and seniors.
In connection with her holistic (mind and body) approach to health and well-being, Dr. Cook evaluates extremity pain as part of her whole-body treatment philosophy. She understands the movements of muscles and connecting joints in relation to the spine and the subtle symptoms for different types of pain. Knees and feet often get overlooked as part of the healing process and as we age, our mobility decreases. So, it is important to keep mobility in our feet so we have full range of motion up and down the spine.
Dr. Cook has extensive experience with plantar fasciitis and other foot and lower limb problems as well as frozen shoulder, golfer or tennis elbow, and knee pain. She studied under Dr. Jack Knox of Santa Cruz, a true healer, who has been treating patients with D.N.F.T.® for over 30 years. Dr. Knox has helped Dr. Cook perfect her adjustments with knees, shoulders, and feet, and she looks forward to helping alleviate any extremity issues you are having.
