RE-TRAIN YOUR JOINTS

These classes were created due to the vast amount of patients Dr. Cook has come across that need more support to help maintain, increase or get back complete range of motion in a specific joint. Either due to injury, lack of movement or simply the not so fun part of aging. Common issues stem from certain muscles not fully functioning or firing to support proper movement of the joint or tight tendons or ligaments restricting movement. Biomechanics can change to adapt to the inconsistency in the joint but not one that serves our best interest long term. Whatever the reason for your limited joint movement, Dr. Cook will analyze and support your process in re-training your joints so you can move the way you were meant to.

During these classes, Dr. Cook will assess your mobility in a specific joint through various exercises she will have you do as well as assess the biomechanics of the joint you are wanting to focus on. After looking at all these aspects carefully, she will then walk you through exercises and stretches specific to your issues to help increase your range of motion and get your joint functioning optimally. If you haven’t had an adjustment in the joint being looked at, that could be recommended as well!

KT tape will also be used, if necessary, to support proper movement and remind your body what is the proper mechanics for the joint to move as it was meant to. Look for specific classes on the news & events page.  There will be classes for hip, knee and shoulder. Dr. Cook looks forward to “geeking” out on your joint with you so you can get back to doing what you love.
